About the Festival
The Taste of Asia Festival is a vibrant, high–energy celebration of Asian culture, cuisine, and unity held each year on the streets of Kennedy & Steeles in Markham, Ontario. Since its beginning in 2003, the festival has grown into one of Canada’s largest and most anticipated cultural events, drawing well over 180,000 visitors during its three–day run every June and showcasing a truly multicultural experience.
Organized through a partnership between the City of Markham, the Federation of Chinese Canadians in Markham (FCCM), the Association of Progressive Muslims of Canada (APMC), and supported by government and community partners, Taste of Asia reflects Canada’s multicultural spirit.
What started as a way to support the local community and economy during the SARS outbreak has evolved into an immersive festival that brings together food lovers, artists, families, and visitors from all backgrounds. Whether you’re exploring delicious street food, enjoying live cultural performances, or discovering local vendors and creators, Taste of Asia offers something for everyone — and invites you to be part of a celebration that’s about culture, connection, and community.
